Sneezing season is here again. About 1 in 5 Americans suffer from seasonal allergies. Tree pollen is one of the most common spring allergy symptoms and that pollen can trigger an allergic response in many people. Pollen counts are typically highest in the morning, and on warm and windy days. Pollen can be hard to avoid in the spring, when pollen counts are high. Staying indoors and taking other avoidance measures may be most important between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m., when allergen levels are typically highest. Steroids can also help serious allergy sufferers. Additionally, acupuncture is recommended when a patient wants a more natural way to ease their symptoms. Doctors should evaluate a patient for allergies if the person suffers from another conditions that is known to be linked to seasonal allergies, such as asthma, eczema and sleep disorders.
