The Shea Clinic ambulatory surgery center and physicians are members of an elite group of surgeons and surgical practices accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). The designation authenticates Shea Clinic’s facility and doctors as being among the surgeons and surgical practices that provide the highest quality of care and safety to their patients.
Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation through AAAASF undergo an extensive self-assessment and site review by AAAASF surveyors who are experts in providing exceptional patient care and safety in a surgical environment. The survey is consultative and collaborative which helps each organization improve patient care.
Designation as an AAAASF accredited organization means Shea Clinic and the physicians serving our patients have exceeded the nationally recognized Gold Standard set by AAAASF for the provision of quality health care, patient safety and patient service. While over 2,000 ambulatory surgical facilities across the United States are accredited by AAAASF, many ambulatory surgery centers and practices do not seek accreditation and not all facilities which undergo the rigorous site survey are granted accreditation.
AAAASF serves as an advocate for the provision of high-quality health care through the development of nationally recognized standards and through its survey and accreditation programs. Third-party payers, medical organizations, liability insurance companies, state and federal agencies and the public recognize AAAASF accreditation as a symbol of quality patient care.
