Voice & Swallowing
The larynx, or voice box, is the organ in the throat that is necessary for voice production and breathing. Swallowing is also critically linked to proper function of the larynx. If the larynx has a disorder, it can result in voice problems and/or breathing problems. We take or voice and swallowing function for granted until there is a problem. It is then that we realize just how vital these functions are in our daily lives.
If you are having problems with your voice or with swallowing, the first step is evaluation and diagnosis by an experienced physician at Shea Clinic. There are many conditions that impact speech and swallowing including cancer, hoarseness, vocal cord nodules, etc.
When you lose your hearing, those around you suffer the most.
